This past weekend we installed the 52.91 repeater at its' permanent
home.
It happened due to the efforts of:
Brian KC0BS - Kansas City
Bob N0EUH - Topeka
Lucky KC0JPJ - Kansas City
Rob WV0S - Topeka
And special thanks to Steve WA0VRS, Topeka, for taking care of
building up and taking care of the Transmitter when I delivered it
to him in 'kit form'. Steve also took care of all the tweaks,
etc... to get the receivers to match.
The Repeater input is -1.7 MHz or on 51.21.
Althought currently it does not require a CTCSS tone, go ahead and
program an 88.5 tone into your radio, should we ever require a tone,
you will already have it programmed into your radio memory.
This is a split site repeater, which means the transmitter is
located at one location and the receivers are located at other
locations.
The transmitter is in downtown Topeka, KS up about 300' with two
Decibel Products low band 'loops' fed with about 100 watts of
power. The loops should slightly favor and East/West pattern.
The 1st receive site (which is currently active) is at the 400'
level with a single Decibel Products low band 'loop' near Hoyt, KS,
fed with 1 5/8" hardline.
The 2nd receive site (which is NOT ONLINE at this time) will be up
around 400' in SW Shawnee County utilizing a similar antenna.
We are considering a third remote receive site near the Lawrence
area, if there is enough interest and usage to justify it.
